This year Slipstream welcomes three new members to our Board of Directors. Lynette McNeely, Lindsey Street, and Molly Ekerdt share an in-depth knowledge of how sustainability and economic growth work in tandem to improve the lives of people and their communities.

"We're very excited to have Lynette, Lindsey, and Molly joining our Board and committee work," says Lori Peterson, Chair of Slipstream’s Board of Directors. "Their insights into public policy, fundraising, and affordable housing will be an invaluable resource to Slipstream and greatly amplify the organization's impact."

"Our Board is filled with sustainability leaders who share our commitment to a more equitable future," says Sandra Henry, President and CEO of Slipstream. "I've always admired how Lynnette, Lindsey, and Molly have lifted up communities through their innovative and empathetic work. I know they share our values as well and I’m excited for their assistance in furthering Slipstream's mission."

Meet the new board members

Lindsey Streeter

Lindsey Streeter is the Senior Philanthropy Officer at Earthjustice. Her 15-year career in the social impact world has spanned several organizations at the intersection of climate policy and economic development, including the Coalition for Rainforest Nations, an enterprise focused on improving the economies of developing nations through climate financing.

Lindsey strengthens Slipstream's fundraising abilities so we can deliver the benefits of a clean energy future to more people.

"I believe that accelerating access to clean energy solutions is the key to staying on track with our domestic and global climate goals. Every individual, household, and business has the opportunity to take part on this transition—but the largest barrier is often the cost. By providing financing, Slipstream is both enabling and granting every person to take part in this very needed energy transformation."

Lynette McNeely

Lynnette McNeely is a community advocate and legal professional whose work has focused on strengthening underserved communities through collaboration, sustainability, and inclusive leadership. As the managing director at JC Legal Resources Center, Lynette has extensive experience in civil rights, environmental justice, and public policy.

Lynette's service adds to Slipstream’s commitment to steer meaningful community engagement and design solutions that serve people's needs above all.

"Slipstream connects clean energy, climate resilience, and economic opportunity with community impact. My work in Milwaukee focuses on revitalizing disinvested neighborhoods through sustainable redevelopment that lowers energy costs, creates opportunity, and strengthens communities. I believe climate solutions should be equitable, practical, and benefit the people who have historically been left behind."

Molly Ekerdt

Molly Ekerdt is Vice President in the Chicago office of Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH). She leads POAH's underwriting and transaction structuring and has been involved in new construction of affordable housing and complex rehabilitation efforts in Chicago's Woodlawn and west side neighborhoods.

Molly's knowledge of the affordable housing landscape supports Slipstream's work to make housing more available, more efficient, and healthier for all residents.

"As a longtime Slipstream partner in building and renovating energy efficient housing, I am excited to support the organization's work into the future, and to make connections across its diverse and well-respected programs to further a mission of healthier homes and more affordable housing and utilities for those who most need it."

Lynette, Lindsey, and Molly take their seats on the Board at a time when their insights are perfectly attuned to growing Slipstream's impact. Our work in public policy helps our government partners take meaningful steps to climate action with the urgency it demands. Growing our fundraising ability allows our staff to enter communities with patience and design solutions based on how people use energy in their daily lives. Affordable housing is a key piece of the clean energy future, and a deeper knowledge of how developers plan projects strengthens our work to make sure everyone can afford a safe, comfortable, healthy place to live.

Welcome to our new Board members!
