Slipstream earns three-year Alliant Energy contract extension to continue massive kilowatt-hour savings

Slipstream has a long history helping utilities achieve energy savings in the lighting space. Alliant Energy placed their trust in Slipstream once again to deliver their Iowa Be Bright program. The Be Bright program incentivizes customers to purchase ENERGY STAR® light bulbs at participating retailers. These light bulbs are at a special low price due to the Alliant Energy buy-down program. Municipal Energy Plan: Seven Community Collaboration (Appendices)

Many of the largest US cities have adopted ambitious goals to reduce their energy and carbon emissions through ambitious goals. Yet not all communities have the same resources to tackle complex issues of reducing overall energy consumption. To leverage the resources that collaboration can provide, seven communities in Dane County, Wisconsin (Fitchburg, Marshall, Middleton, Monona, Stoughton, Sun Prairie, and Waunakee) came together to develop energy plans that provide clear guidance on near-term actions for each community. Slipstream co-creates ASHRAE's Smart Grid Application Guide: Integrating Facilities with the Electric Grid

As the modern grid evolves, the electricity supply and demand will be more dynamic than ever. We need two-way communication between electric service providers and building energy management systems. Slipstream’s engineers created foundational education to empower building owners, designers, and building operators to build and operate for smart grid design. ASHRAE’s Smart Grid Application Guide: Integrating Facilities with the Electric Grid is the first and only of its kind developed for building designers and operators. More
