Slipstream earns three-year Alliant Energy contract extension to continue massive kilowatt-hour savings

Slipstream has a long history helping utilities achieve energy savings in the lighting space. Alliant Energy placed their trust in Slipstream once again to deliver their Iowa Be Bright program. The Be Bright program incentivizes customers to purchase ENERGY STAR® light bulbs at participating retailers. These light bulbs are at a special low price due to the Alliant Energy buy-down program. In 2019, over 600 retailers participated and the program successfully delivered over 672 thousand ENERGY STAR® qualified LED’s to Alliant customers. This equated to over 20 million in kWh savings. 

We collaborate with manufacturers and retailers to negotiate product, placement, and pricing. Slipstream provides high quality retail associate training and effective point of purchase materials to increase the level of program awareness. Our team conducts customer education through weekly in-store demo events throughout the Alliant Energy service territory. We customize a marketing strategy to drive traffic to stores through digital, social, and billboard advertising. Our team manages a dedicated website and call center to educate customers on the benefits of replacing inefficient lighting with more efficient options. The website also features a store locator to assist customers in finding participating retailers.
