Power Quality and Renewable Energy Systems
This seminar offers insight to the power quality influences of Renewable Energy Inverters such as those commonly used in Photo-voltaic power systems. It offers a high level look at this topic, however, a separate four hour seminar is also available for those who want a more in-depth learning experience.
This program offers a comparison between utility power and renewable power sources and demonstrates various levels of voltage quality available from different inverter filtering techniques, as well as consideration for applying inverters. Upon completion of this course, participants should have a general understanding of the general power quality available from renewable energy inverter systems as well as methods to improve voltage quality and what to consider before installing these.
Compressed Air Systems: The costs and considerations related to clean, dry compressed air
Compressed air is a vital industrial utility and production equipment that can be adversely affected by contaminants such as water, oil, scale, odor, and more. Choosing the correct compressed air treatment equipment requires an understanding of their operation, performance specifications and operating costs.
This presentation will explore various air treatment equipment and help you better understand:
- Sizing criteria for compressed air dryers
- Various control options for both refrigerated and desiccant dryers
- Different types of filtration and their applications
- The cost of pressure drop
Power Quality for Motor Control Applications
This seminar offers insight to the power quality impacts of various motor control applications. It offers a high level look at these topics, however, a separate four hour seminar is also available for those who want a more in-depth learning experience. This program discusses motor controls such across-the-line starters, solid-state starters, adjustable speed drives and their impacts on electrical power quality.
Power quality topics relating to VFDs include harmonics, voltage transients, as well as the effects on motor windings and bearings. Upon completion of this course, participants should have a general understanding of the various types of power quality problems that can be anticipated when using various types of motor controls as well as methods to solve and avoid these power quality problems.
