Introduction to Community Energy Planning
INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNITY ENERGY PLANNING: Wednesday, October 23, 2024 | 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CST
As U.S. cities pursue carbon reduction goals, many communities, particularly smaller ones, face challenges in managing the complexity of prioritizing their actions and investments to reduce their energy use. Across Wisconsin, communities of all sizes are taking steps to develop and implement effective energy plans. This webinar will provide an overview of municipal energy plans, with insights from representatives of Stoughton, which completed its plan in 2020, Evansville (2023), and Mount Horeb (in-process), who will share their local experiences.
Slipstream will guide attendees through the key steps in developing a municipal energy plan, including strategies for starting the process, inventorying and benchmarking equipment and energy use, and identifying energy-saving opportunities. The webinar will also cover how to implement and fund these initiatives. Drawing from their extensive work with Wisconsin municipalities, Slipstream will share practical examples and lessons learned to help other communities succeed in their energy planning efforts.
