Achieving the region's ambitious climate goals of net-zero carbon emissions community-wide by 2050 will require a community effort. Join Slipstream and Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) to explore decarbonization pathways for your community, organization, or business to help achieve this goal. This half-day event features several sessions that highlight what MGE customers are doing to accelerate a path to decarbonization and a more equitable and sustainable future, and how you can too.

Local and regional experts will share tools and case studies to help attendees to achieve their own energy efficiency and decarbonization goals. MGE will provide updates to its Net Zero by 2050 Carbon goal and discuss how customers are an important part of this ambitious effort. Discover new programs and incentive opportunities, including updates on the momentous Inflation Reduction Act, that you can take advantage of to support your community or business by saving energy and lowering utility costs.

Join us and discover new solutions for community-wide decarbonization. Every step helps advance our collective efforts.

This course will not be pre-approved for GBCI CE Hours or AIA LUs; however, if you believe the content is applicable to your credential, you can self-report credits (note that while AIA CES does accept self-reported education, some architecture licensing boards do not accept such courses). Course completion certificates will not be sent.

Andy Allcock, MBA is the Senior Director of Marketing for Tribe 9 Foods. Andy is a master juggler of tasks and priorities and has been successful at leading Tribe 9 Foods through turbulent times while growing the presence of their brand and sub-brands. He's a great resource of marketing insights built up over 20+ years of experience in consumer products spanning multiple industries with blue chip, high growth mid-market, and private equity-backed companies. Additionally, he has a calm demeanor that provides great leadership balance to others. When he's not leading his team he's either racing triathlons or spending time with his family and friends.

Rob Crain
Director of Customer Experience and Energy Services
Madison Gas and Electric

Rob Crain is Madison Gas & Electric’s (MGE) Director of Customer Experience and Energy Services. He was previously MGE’s Director of Business Marketing and Engagement.
Prior to joining MGE, Rob spent 14 years at Alliant Energy working in a wide variety of areas, including Economic Development, Regulatory Relations, and Commercial and Industrial Account Management. Before working in the energy industry, Rob was a broadcast journalist. He is the former Director of News and Operations at both NBC15, in Madison, and WSAW-TV, in Wausau, and spent many years as a producer at WISC-TV, in Madison.
Rob is the current Board Chair of Destination Madison and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Madison Area Sports Commission. He previously served on the boards of the Wisconsin Innovation Awards, and the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute. He earned a certificate in strategy of leadership from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and earned his bachelor’s degree from UW–Madison.

Mario Garcia Sierra

Mario joined MGE in 2012. He has led MGE’s partnerships aiming to meet the needs of MGE’s increasingly diverse residential customer base. He became the RCS director in June of 2022. Prior to MGE, Mario worked as the Director of Programs for Centro Hispano. Madison has been his home since he moved to the U.S. in 2003 from Guatemala, City.

Kevin Frost | PE
Senior Energy Engineer
Slipstream

Kevin models energy efficiency in building and consults with building owners, architects and engineers to implement building energy efficiency measures. His background in HVAC design and field experience as well as his analytical skills allow him to recommend advanced energy analysis and recommendations.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Kimberly Johnston

Kimberly Johnston is the Market Development Director - PACE with more than 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, project management, strategic business plan development and market research. She leads marketing and educational efforts for a number of Slipstream’s clients—promoting a wide variety of energy saving programs, products, services, and incentives. Kimberly’s expertise ranges from executing the smallest of outreach tactics to building entire brands from scratch. She is dedicated to meeting her client and team’s goals in an efficient and innovative manner.

Mahanth S. Joishy
Fleet Superintendent
City of Madison

Mahanth S. Joishy joined City of Madison as Fleet Superintendent in 2017 after 16 years working in New York City government operations. He worked for NYC Parks & Recreation for 11 years managing vehicle repair, recycling, waste collection, and volunteer programs, and drafting the first-ever parks field manual, among other tasks. In 2012 he began overseeing the safety program for all NYC departments using the 30,000-vehicle fleet, and he helped manage preparations and response to Hurricane Sandy, which struck the east coast that same year. In Madison, Mahanth is focused on making the City fleet the greenest, safest, and most cost efficient possible in coordination with his colleagues in every department. Madison Fleet has newly launched aggressive programs to purchase biodiesel, EVs, hybrid police cars, anti-idling technology, soybean tires, telematics, and other efforts. Madison Fleet is also involved in vehicle safety initiatives for Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway’s Vision Zero plan. With Fleet at over 80 EVs, 500 trucks running on biodiesel, and over 1,000 soybean tires installed Mahanth is now on a mission to get every Madison vehicle owner into an EV.

Jeannette LeZaks
Director of Research + Innovation

Jeannette believes that the solutions to our energy challenges necessitate a multi-faceted approach. Her experience reflects that belief, as she brings a comprehensive background in energy systems analysis. Her work at Slipstream focuses on applied and technical research examining how people use energy, and hopes that this knowledge will serve to advance energy efficiency and sustainability. She serves as a volunteer member on the City of Madison's Sustainable Madison Commission.

Jeannette has a Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University and a Master's degree focusing on Energy Analysis and Policy from the Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies at UW-Madison.

Robin Lisowski
Managing Director of Policy

Robin is Director of Service Solutions at Slipstream, where she leads new service development efforts. Robin has more than 20 years of experience conducting and managing technical and policy analysis projects, facilitating stakeholder engagement processes, and designing programs in public, for-profit, and nonprofit environments. She has worked directly with state and local governments and energy utilities for 18 years and in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industry since 2008 when she became the Assistant Director of the Business Programs Portfolio for Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy program. Robin is an interdisciplinary thinker and doer with a passion for clean energy and environmental justice policy. In her work, she has a reputation for centering these passions alongside analytical rigor and the importance of understanding human experience with and attitudes toward energy efficiency, electrification, and other clean energy options in buildings and transportation.

Alexis London
Executive Director
Bayview Foundation

Alexis started as Bayview’s Community Programs Manager in 2015 and was promoted to Executive Director in 2016. As the Executive Director, Alexis provides vision and leadership for the organization. She ensures safe, affordable housing for the 102 families that live at Bayview and the delivery of a wide array of vital services at Bayview’s Community Center. Alexis is leading Bayview’s redevelopment project that will transform Bayview’s aging townhouses and community center into a vibrant neighborhood that emphasizes social cohesion, mutual aid, sustainability, and community health. Prior to her work at Bayview Foundation, Alexis has been in management roles within non-profit arts and education agencies for more than 20 years. She was the Education Director for seven years at VSA Wisconsin, a statewide organization with the mission of providing multidisciplinary arts programming for people with disabilities. Alexis holds bachelor's degrees in fine art and art history from University of California at Santa Cruz and a master's degree in community-based art education from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Ed Neumueller

Standard Imaging

Ed Neumueller, CEO of Standard Imaging, is a co-founder, co-owner and leader of SI since it beginnings in 1989. Standard Imaging is a major player in the development, manufacturing and distribution of QA and radiation measurement equipment used by Medical Physicist’s in Radiation Therapy Centers around the world. Ed is a longtime proponent of conservation in the use of alternative fuels. This began with the installation of a unique passive solar system on his first home in 1979 leading to a geothermal HVAC system in his current home. He has carried on this same environmental conviction in the design and construction of Standard Imaging’s facility. Built in 2007, the 37,000 sf building utilizes four 11.9-kilowatt solar tracker arrays, a Geothermal HVAC system and has never burned any fossil fuels on its premises. The company is also proud of its participation in the Wisconsin DNR Green Tier program, MG&E’s Shared Solar participation and Green Power Tomorrow program.

Jillian Page is the Manager of Business Customer Relations at Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) where she leads a team of account managers responsible for developing and maintaining working relations with business customers by serving as the single point of contact that connects customers to energy solutions. Jillian and her team advise business customers on optimal strategies to achieve their energy efficiency goals, explore renewable energy opportunities, and promote available products and services. In addition to her role at MGE, Jillian is the WI Chapter Secretary for Association of Energy Service Professions (AESP), Board Vice President at Dane Buy Local, and sits on the United Way of Dane County Lead United Council.

Stephen Pipson
Project Manager
Focus on Energy

Steve is a Project Manager for the Energy Design Assistance Program at FOCUS ON ENERGY® overseeing commercial projects from application to incentive. Engaging key project team members enables Steve to understand a design team’s energy efficiency goals to help tailor energy modelling for each project to receive incentives for energy savings. In previous roles at Focus on Energy Steve has worked closely with real estate professionals across WI to bring more awareness to the real estate industry regarding energy-related home features and as a direct result of his outreach efforts Steve received Slipstream’s 2020 “Educator of the Year” award. Using his knowledge of building science and construction practices Steve formerly fulfilled roles at Focus on Energy as the Outreach and Technical Representative for the US Dept. of Energy Home Energy Score and Regional Manager for Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®.

Mark Seitz
Senior Business Unit Manager for EV Systems
Franklin Electric

Mark Seitz is the Senior Business Unit Manager for EV Systems at Franklin Electric, a manufacturer providing critical asset monitoring and control equipment for the energy markets. He has several years of experience in engineering and business development roles, including time with an early-stage technology startup and the venture arm of a leading global corporation. At Franklin Electric, we are developing products to enable the aggressive build-out of the EV charging network so we can help meet our climate goals. Mark has an electrical engineering degree from UW-Milwaukee and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
