
Richard Feustel
Richard recently was a senior energy advisor for Leidos Engineering, a Fortune 500 company working in the energy field for more than 30 years as an engineer, trainer, and manager. As an energy advisor, he provided specialized energy management assistance to 105 industrial, commercial, and healthcare companies. Support included organizing and leading 30+ energy teams and promoting energy efficiency in all aspects. He was the driving force behind industrial Strategic Energy Management (SEM) propelling 30 select companies toward ISO 50001 practices and certification. Before that, he was the Corporate Energy Manager for Briggs & Stratton where he saved over $5,000,000 from energy efficiency and reduced their energy intensity by 20% in his last five years at Briggs. In 2011, Richard was recognized as the International Energy Manager of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in Chicago, IL and as the Renewable Energy Innovator of the Year in 2013 in Washington DC.
Richard is a retired Lieutenant Commander having served in the US Navy and Marine Corps for 23 years of active service as a nuclear submarine officer and enlisted aviation mechanic. He has led the veteran non-profit, Salute the Troops for 12 years and is currently the Vice President. He is a member of the Fond du Lac Marine Corps League and the Navy Club - Ship 75.
Richard holds a Masters degree in Operations Research, and a Bachelors in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and another Bachelors in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University.
