Julie Thoney

Julie Thoney serves as the Community Service & Economic Development Manager for Xcel Energy in Eau Claire County. With 27 years of experience at the company, Julie has held diverse roles in Customer Care, Service Policy, Energy Efficiency, and Community Relations. For the past nine years, she has led efforts to strengthen partnerships with local governments, nonprofits, businesses, and economic development organizations throughout the county. She is a dedicated advocate for community engagement and philanthropy, acting as Xcel Energy’s liaison for Eau Claire County. Her leadership extends across numerous boards and committees, including the Women’s Giving Circle, Chippewa Valley Museum Board, Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Governmental Affairs Committee (Chair), Eau Claire Area Economic Development Board, Chippewa Economic Development Corporation Board, and the Wisconsin Economic Development Association Legislative Committee.
