The Case for Energy Equity

Energy equity means that all people share the benefits of the clean energy economy. Let's make it happen.

Communities know what they need to build resilience. We can listen to them, learn from their wisdom, and help them design the solutions that help them achieve their goals.

Frontline communities—those that experience the "first and worst" of climate change—have energy burdens two to three times the national median. Energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy can lower this burden.

High energy burdens, home health concerns, or distrust toward program implementers can leave many of our most "vulnerable" communities out of solutions. Our work will not be done until everyone experiences the economic, health, and social benefits of clean energy.
